Q. Does OHEKA offer tours of the estate? Our Private tours program offers visitors limited access to the estate. Tours are available by appointment only and the cost is $25 + tax per person with discounts for seniors, teens & groups.
Q. Are there any special events held at OHEKA I may attend? There are occasional special events which are open to members of the general public such as Restaurant Night, The Garden Party, and our Bridal Shows. Please visit our “New & Noteworthy” section on our website for a list of upcoming events.
Q. How many Weddings does OHEKA have a day?
A. There is only one wedding per day.
Q. How many guests can OHEKA accommodate for an event?
A. 400 guests for a sit-down dinner (tables of 12) with music & dancing can be accommodated comfortably in the Terrace Room. Our famous Gatsby Style events (on-going affairs) can accommodate up to 1000 guests.
Q. Are we able to have the ceremony at the Estate?
A. Yes, if you are having your reception at OHEKA. If the weather permits than the ceremony can be held outside in the Formal Gardens. If there is inclement weather the ceremony will be moved indoors.
Q. How do I get more information on having an event at the estate?
A. Call 631-659-1400 to make an appointment to meet with an event sales manager.
Q. Why can’t I get pricing over the phone or by email?
A. The pricing is based on many variables and there is too much information to be discussed over the phone or by email.
Q. Why is there a rental fee? The rental fee reserves designated areas of the estate for exclusive use and enables the estate to host only one wedding a day.
Q. Is the rental fee tax deductible?
A. No.
Q. How often do you have appointments to view the estate?
A. We are here seven days a week. Times of appointments vary from day to day and are based on availability. Please keep in mind that weekend appointments book fast and there is a waiting list every weekend. Therefore, if you need to cancel your appointment we ask that you call to reschedule so that someone else may be able to see the estate.
Q. What if I am going to be late for my appointment?
A. Appointments are every hour so if you are late your appointment will be shortened to the remainder of the original allotted time scheduled for you. Therefore, it is advised that you call 631-659-1400 to let the event sales manager know that you will be late. It may be more beneficial to re-schedule.
Q. May I have my rehearsal dinner at OHEKA?
A. Yes, Monday thru Thursday, subject to availability.
Q. What if we want to change or add something on the menu?
A. You may speak with our Executive Chef to discuss your changes or additions. Some changes & upgrades may require an additional fee. You will be notified of any additional fees in writing.
Q. What if I need special meals at the event such as kosher, vegetarian or I have a guest with dietary needs?
A. That is not a problem. Just inform your banquet manager of your needs when you are planning your menu.
Q. Is the wedding cake included?
A. Yes, wedding cakes from our Premier Collection book are included. You may also upgrade your wedding cake by meeting with our Executive Pastry Chef to create a custom design or simply choose from our Signature Collection Book. Upgrade charges apply.
Q. Can I use a florist and music company that is not a house vendor at OHEKA or that is not on the approved vendor list at OHEKA?
A. Yes, but they must get approved to work at OHEKA for your event and they must meet all the insurance requirements. There will also be a $500 approval fee.
Q. Can we use candles?
A. Yes, but all candles must be enclosed and have something underneath them to catch the wax. There are some restricted areas. Please refer to your contract for details.
Q. Are there overnight accommodations at the estate?
A. Yes, presently we have a total of 32 guestrooms & suites. All guestrooms and suites are available and include a continental breakfast the next morning from 8:30 am until 10:30 am. Q. What time can my guests check into their rooms?
A. Check-in time is at 3:00 p.m. and check-out time is at 11:00 a.m. the next morning.
Q. Can I arrange an early check- in and or a late check- out?
A. If the guestroom or suite is available an early check-in and a late check-out may be possible. Additional fees may apply.
Q. Is there an overnight room included for the bride and groom?
A. Yes, a suite is included for the bride and groom the night of the wedding at OHEKA.
Q. Is there a room for the bride and groom to get ready in?
A. Yes, the bride and groom each get a room to get ready in the day of the wedding.
Q. Is there anyone to help the bride and groom throughout the day?
A. Yes, there is an attendant for the bride and the groom.
Q. Can I upgrade to a hot buffet breakfast.
A. Yes. The fee to upgrade to our Platinum Breakfast is $35.00 + tax per person.
Q. Can I invite my guests that did not stay overnight at OHEKA Castle to breakfast the next morning?
A. Yes, but we do require a minimum guaranteed guest count 5 days prior and there is a per person fee to be paid that morning. The price is $25.00 per guest for continental breakfast and $35.00 + tax per person for a hot buffet breakfast.
Q. Can we take wedding photos at the Estate if we are not having our wedding at OHEKA?
A. You can take photos at the Estate as long as there is no other event at the Estate and the fee is $500 per hour and your photographer must supply us with insurance.
Q. Can buses drive up to the Estate?
A. Yes, but they must arrive through the entrance at East Gate Drive. See Directions for Buses
Q. Are pets permitted at OHEKA Castle?
A. Yes, but they must be kept in a cage in the guestrooms and on a leash when being walked in an area designated by OHEKA. There is a cleaning fee of $200.00. Unfortunately, pets cannot be on the main floor where food is served.
Q. Is the Estate handicap accessible?
A.Yes. There are on-site wheelchairs, an elevator, and handicap restrooms as well as a handicap friendly guestroom.
